AWE Ltd., Sydney, has rejected an unsolicited $421-million (Aus.) takeover proposal from global private equity group Lone Star Fund. AWE directors labelled the 80¢ (Aus.)/share bid “opportunistic,” adding that it was “indicative, conditional, and nonbinding.”
